Hey all
I've been reading this board since my girl was a few weeks old. Her colicky behaviour started at around 2 weeks old....but it wasn't just an evening thing it was pretty much all day. In the early weeks she'd wake up feed, be ok for 5 or 10 minutes and then that particular cry would start and then the relentless bouncing and rocking would start also. She's now 11 weeks old and last week she was sitting contentedly in her car seat for the entire journey after a week of minimal fussing during the day - I thought 'It is over!!'...but the last few days i've had to eat my words. Argh! So frustrating. On sunday some friends came round for lunch and she was quite literally back into it, having to be rocked, relentless crying - that familiar sharp cry. I could have cried, I just could not believe after such a good week that it was back and so intense. The last few days she's been a bit more fussy but still better than the early weeks.
I guess my question is - is it normal for it to end like this? With good days and then bad? It's just so frustrating!

It absolutely is normal. Don't think of there being an end DAY or WEEK, think of it more like tapering off. And she'll probably always be a bit fussy as a baby but once she is able to do more the crying will die down. Hang in there momma! Its a bumpy ride and they go through all those mental and physical growth spurts. She might be good one week and the next she might hit a growth spurt and be fussier!

Thanks for the reply! I am definitely finding this to be true...it is tapering off...also I just posted a thread about the behavioural aspects of it and how i'm handling those now. Anyway, cheers!
