I just want to enjoy my baby and maternity leave. My LO is 6 weeks tomorrow. The crying started about 1 1/2 weeks ago. But if I really think about it there were signs from day one. Recently he has been crying or fussing from the moment he wakes up until bedtime. It takes me forever to get him down for a nap and sometimes I can't even do that. Which leads to him being over tired. When he wakes up from a nap he is fussing and crying again. I spent those few hours trying to feed him and console him until it's time to try and nap again. And when he wakes up if I doe feed him immediately he is mad. Bedtime is a chore too. Hours of swaddling walking and soothing to get him to sleep. Sometimes he sleeps good. Most nights he sleeps then is awake for a 2-3 hrs and we spend that time getting him to sleep again. Feeling very stressed and defeated. This is our first baby

It's rubbish isn't it? All I can advise is the usual - white noise, swaddling, rocking. For the worst fits stick the hoover on and rock baby in your arms nearby. We had all-day colic too, I think i'd far rather have a set time than the 24 hour version. Over time i've come to believe that a LOT of it is down to overtiredness - basically once you've fed him and changed him - start getting him back to sleep. I know how relentless it is....and I know that hearing it'll get better in future is not much help to you now...but each day is a day closer and you will start to enjoy your baby soon.

My first and only little one was colicky and I remember crying to my mom that I wished I'd taken 6 weeks instead of 12 off bc I couldn't stand the crying. Hang in there! Do you have support from family members? Please ask and accept help when you need a break. I would run the vacuum cleaner and swaddle using the pods that have Velcro (summer infant brand) which helped my guy. Just to let you know, he's now a happy, chill 8 month old. It gets so much better and it'll be hard to even remember ( bc you're so sleep deprived lol) when your baby was like this.
