I'm a first time mom. My LO was born a month early and was in NICU for 9 days after she was born. We got her home and we were so happy. She could sleep through anything. I was vacuuming around her and she didn't mind at all. Passed from person to person. Slept 3-4 hours throughout the day. I was even concerned that she wasn't awake enough to be learning things. She is now 6 weeks and 3 days. The last 4 days have been horrible. She started to become a light sleeper last week, waking when I would even come into the room. Now i can barely leaver her by herself without hearing her shrills. Does anyone else have a similar story. I seem to be reading that the crying usually starts from day one, not a sudden change. Not sure if it was because she was a preemie or not? Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Newborns are actually programmed to sleep through noise and other interruptions for a period of time. Since your baby was early, she is probably now at the point (adjusted for age) where she doesn't automatically shut that stuff out, unfortunately. She may be more sensitive than other babies, but it is probably also normal. Good luck!

babies may start crying at any stage as my older one started crying at her 5th month, I can understand your situation, first of all you must see some pediatrician to establish that it is not something serious and the baby is crying just because of colic then it easy to cope with and for this I would suggest you try "babies magic tea" as I used it with all my babies and they never cried due to colic.
