Okay, for those of you whose babies have gotten teeth, did they get HORRIBLE butt burn? I mean, OMG their butt is on fire, change their diaper AS SOON AS THEY GO POOP diapers? Abby, we figured out, is fixing to pop at least 2 teeth. Her gums are swollen and she is feverish and chewing on everything. And every time she poops her poop literally burns her bottom. I have tried everything on her butt, but it is horrible. She just screams and cries. The only thing we can do is take her to the sink and wash her off, literally, just to get the acid off. Any ideas, or did anyone else's babies do this. Tamara, did Brooklyn do this??

Mya got diaper rash REALLY REALLY bad when she was teething. Like...same thing. Pooping diaper after diaper. We went thru a pack in like...a week. I remember so well because that was the ONLY time that child has ever had diaper rash. I even wrote it in her baby book because i was so surprised how bad it was. Brooklyn gets feverish....or one cheek will turn BRIGHT BRIGHT red and be really burning hot to the touch. In fact...shes been doing it really bad the last week or so. Her top tooth on the top broke thru the gum FINALLY today. She gets really sick acting...she doesnt take teething too well. I wouldnt worry just try to keep her butt as painless as possible, change her as quick as possible when she poops, put cream on her to soothe it a bit....you know, all the usual stuff. It wont be forever. YAAAAY abby....GROWING SOME TEETH!

We've been using A&D, Dr. Smith's, triple antibiotic with some pain stuff in it and changing her IMMEDIATELY after she poops, but the poor child, you just can't get it off her fast enough. Her butt is literally raw with blisters and it isn't from the lack of changing, because like you Tamara, I just had to buy more diapers b/c we went through so many. I even went up a size just to try to keep the contact with her butt at a minimum. I don't know what else to do. Poor baby.

Poor thing. David started getting a lirrlw diaper rash after he got sick and was pooping like crazy (as in 6-8 poopy diapers a day). I've always put the Aveno creme on him at night as a preventative measure. It's worked so far. Last week I started using it after almost every change when I saw the rash. I also tried to let him air out a little (of course, every time I do this, I end up getting peed on) and gave him a good bath every night. Well, something must have worked, because most of the rash is gone.

Oh, and Beaudreax's Butt Paste is supposed to work great. Haven't tried it myself.

Jenn,
I won't use beaudreax's butt paste, it has boric acid in it. I used it on my first daughter with a rash, that granted was red and swollen, but still... it made it worse. I will never use it again. I am just going to have to use a bunch of different things until I can find things that work or until she breaks those teeth.

I use Weleda baby cream. It is supposed to prevent diaper rash, but it also clears it up and can be used for a lot of other stuff too. They also make a diaper cream that is supposed to be good. Their stuff is great and everything is all natural.

I use the white cloud diapers from wal-mart. that is the only diapers that DON'T break her out, and they are hypoallergenic too. we use the newborn cloth sensitive wipes for her precious butt. Laura, where do you get that stuff from??

We find that no name diapers are the best too, however we have had to upgrade to pampers bc of the mass quantity of urine that P puts out. we also use the walmart wipes.... we used a huggies one once and oh my the red bumps that popped right out
