Gavin loves this one Tom Waits song. It's typical Waits, full of downtrodden, disfigured veterans and hookers, and I seriously hope it doesn't result in a need for therapy later, but the melody seems to soothe him right off to sleep.
Go figure.

Abby in general loves music. She gets all smiley and starts wiggling around if you're holding her, slapping the crap out of her own legs, your legs, whatever... She just like music. We found that Yanni (again, not my CD, my weird husbands...) puts her to sleep, but again, it would put me to sleep to!

We were at a friends house for Thanksgiving and were hanging out outside. They were playing a bunch of random music when "I like big butts, and I cannot lie" came on. My daughter, Georgia had been screaming her head off until that song came on. She literally stopped and listened so intently. It was the funniest thing. Looks like I'm going to have to download that one to the ipod for the car rides when she screams her head off too (which is every car ride, ugh).

I wish Brooklyn liked some cool song.... Instead the only thing that will calm this kid down sometimes...or get her to take her medicine (i feel like mary FREAKIN poppins!!!) or just get her to cooperate, i have to sing the ABC'S to her. I think it all started because everyday of my pregnancy, Mya would sing the ABC's into my tummy at night. Religiously. Everytime she did it, i would feel Brooklyn wake up and start moving around and kicking. Especially the closer to my due date, it was very obvious she was hearing her. Ever since then its one of the only songs that will calm her down. ESPECIALLY when Mya sings it. Sometimes if Brooklyn is screaming I'll scream "Myaaaa!! Get in here, and help me!! QUICK! SING your sister the abc's!!!" lol Goof ball
