Hello all, I am the mother of an almost four month old daughter who has had severe colic. I have learned a lot from these message boards and appreciate all the information and support it has to offer! I am interested in finding out more information about other babies and their families who have experienced colic to see if there is a common thread among them which would help elucidate potential "causes" or associations. So, I created a survey which I would really appreciate others to fill out! It only takes about five minutes to complete. Once I have responses, I will share that information on this thread. Link to survey - you will need to replace "no linkss" with "h t t p s" without spaces in the browser Thank you in advance!!

Hello all,
Just wanted to follow up with some responses that I got. Unfortunately, I only got a total of 13 responses so far. Some of the results of the survey: - 77% were first born, 15% were second and 8% fourth or greater - 58% girl, 42% boy - median age of mother was 30.5 - median age of father was 31 - 83% were full term pregnancies - ethnic breakdown: 69% White, 15% Asian, rest other - no one who comleted survey had other children with colic/high needs
There didn't seem to be any correlation with level of emotional stress or difficulty sleeping during pregnancy, morning sickness, geographic location or highest level of education completed.
The survey is still open if you would like to complete it! See above. Thanks!

I think mine is ending fingers crossed at 11 1/2 weeks. He may be hig needs, but the day time crying for seemingly no reason is lessening. We can even leave him in a bop pie sometimes for 45 minutes. Hes a boy who needs stimulation, I really think it has nothing to do with age/stress/education. I think its just luck of the draw.

In the survey, did it say how long it normally lasted?

Did you ask anything about genetics? I think it has to do with genetics, and demeanor.
