Ok mama's.....NEED Help!! I remember some of you writing about sleep training and how well it worked for you..Please tell me how?? Our little one was sleeping through the night..Now not so much...I have to make a confession. Due to her reflux (which has subsided) we have had her sleeping in the swing...YIKES!! I know I know...we have tried numerous times to put her in her crib to no avail. We are both full time working parents. So her sleeping peacefully in the swing from 7pm - 6 am was such a gift. We would try transitioning her to the crib on weekends but she just isnt having it! Now that she is not sleeping through the night we have tried putting her in crib. Last night she actually slept for about a half hour which was a first and we were amazed! Then she woke up SCREAMING - A cry we had never heard before. She was scared. Im not a huge fan of cry it out. And if I feel her cry is of the scared kind- I wouldnt let her cry..But normal crying- if it will help her get her much needed zzz's...And us too...I am willing to give it my all. How long do you let her cry? First time say 10 min? then 20 ? then 30? Any advice would be great... And please dont judge the swing...I already know that was a mistake... OH- And she is just about 6 mos.... Signed.. Tired mama...

My daughter also slept in her swing for a few weeks, it was the only thing that worked! You do what you have to do in the beginning, don't beat yourself up! To sleep train our baby, we used a combination of the books 12 hours in 12 weeks and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. We used to have to rock our daughter to sleep for 20-30 minutes and then put her in her swing. Now she goes into her crib and falls asleep on her own without fussing. I never thought it would happen- My daughter also has reflux and is so colicky and wants to be held constantly, but the methods in these books worked! Also, if it makes you feel any better, my daughter won't nap in her crib yet, she is still in the swing during the day and her crib at night. We are tackling that next. GOOD LUCK!!
