I tried this with my son and it helped a little. The stuff is yucky if they spit it up, but if it had worked really well for us then I wouldn't have cared a bit. It just wasn't a huge change but was worth trying imo.

I have a newborn son, 3 1/2 months and he has such horrible colic gas that he can scream for 5 hours straight without blinking an eye. He is an unplanned blessing and my first, fortunately. I say that because I don't know how babies in general act, therefore, I just hold my breath, say a pray and ask for enough grace to get through the episode. In fact, he smiled the other day, for the very first time, and I began to see why people have more than one. I love him, through it all. I had a c-section and had to take care of him by myself during the recovery, with his colic, it was rough. His father is so overwhelmed when he screams that he has to leave the room or hang up the phone and he never wakes up with him at night (or should I say stay up with him all night as I do), however, he's allowed me not to work right now, so I'll deal with that. His ped. said he would grow out of it and wouldn't switch his formula, though my mom said that he didn't seem "satiated" ever, so we tried giving him some cereal in his bottle to line his tummy, I hoped this would lessen the gas. He started throwing up on the rice, so I tried oatmeal, and it works amazing. He actually has a span of time (not a long one) that he's not looking to eat and is not screaming. What frightened me most was that I had arrived at a point where I understood how people just lose their minds and disastrous circumstances result. I'm not proud of myself for ever thinking this way. Well, to make a long story short, I've tried goat milk, baby food mixed with formula, cereal and a combination of all of it. I think what works best for me was that I had a friend who was from Switzerland and she said that they give their children fennel tea over there. So in another desperate attempt to help my son, I tried fennel tea. I figured that I had HORRIBLE reflux when I was pregnant and took digestive herbs like fennel, licorice, and ginger every day, so why wouldn't he need something like that if he came from me and that was a staple in his nourishment everyday? Well, he doesn't like it, and colic calm makes something called a num-med...an amazing product that administers whatever liquid you are trying to give them through a pacifier. WOW, supposedly, it allows the product to bypass the taste buds, and they drink it. So when we're having an episode, I give him gripe water that has fennel, ginger, and sodium bicarbonate mixture (any of them) and it helps with the gas pains. I also give him at least a 1/2 bottle of fennel tea 1x a day. I should say that I also switched him to lactofree formula, despite what his doctor said, and this has helped, I believe, tremendously. As for colic calm, I say pass. He loves the taste but the activated charcol in it gave him horrible gas pains without the ability to expel it anyway...and constipation...awesome . Well, here he is screaming at the moment, thanks for reading this and glad I found you all. Sometimes, I think I'm going to lose my mind

i just wanted to comment on the product i have tried several different colic meds and i have to say nothing actually worked consistently like colic calm! yes it is messy and that did create a problem in giving it to my daughter however i found a baby bottle with a medicine syringe in the middle (tricky device)called the reliadose bought it at rite aid 8.95 worth the money!!!since then its been easier not messy at all and i know my daughter is actually getting the full dose... colic calm also offers a pacifier that delivers meds easy and i actually just ordered it 5.99 i think they should give it to you since its so damm messy and expensive! compared to other products but hey when something works and your baby and everyone else at home is happy its worth it...

If a product doesn't work for you, it's always helpful for the rest of us to know how and why you were disappointed in it, just as it is when you find a product you'd happily endorse. Thanks!

Hi, I bought Colic Calm in a desperate attempt to help my daughter. We have tried absolutley everything from switching formulas to all kinds of medications, sleeping elevated, keeping her upright after eating...then I found this product online. Well I ordered it and it did nothing except make her cry worse, spit up more, and then it just knocked her out into a very deep sleep. I didn't care for the product at all and will NOT use it ever again. I felt like they advertised this product to be this super stuff that works miracles and it only made things worse for me and baby.

Just wanted to put in my two cents. Our 3 week old suffers from very bad colic. We have been giving her Little Tummies Gripe Water with very little success. We ordered the ColicCalm and the minute we gave her the first dose she screamed. It made her worse. It seemed to constipate her as she was not having bowel movements like she was before. Her's turned black, I likened it to used chewing tobacco in her diaper. In an effort to see if perhaps she had to get used to it we gave her one more dose. Same reaction. However, after the second dose she started to have almost regular bm's again, but the screaming persisted. We are sending it back. I will not make it any worse for my poor daughter than what she is already going through. We feel helpless. Our daughter is in so much pain and we, as parents, are supposed to help and comfort and nothing works. Parents that have never experienced colic have no idea what it is like.
I am not saying the product doesn't work, I am just saying it didn't work for us. We were looking for the ultimate cure and this just wasn't it. All you can do is try it for yourself and hope it works. Good luck.

*big hugs* Makayla's Dad, thanks for posting, and we're sorry it's not working for you. My husband and I had the same experience with our son: there was simply no "magic bullet" for us. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with the product. It's sure to help others.

I just ordered a bottle of colic calm today and I'm praying that it will work for my Eddyson. He is only two weeks old as of today and he has a major gas problem. His stomach looks very bloated and is hard to the touch. It seems with every feeding it gets worse, 'cos little by little the air he swallows while breastfeeding just builds up in his little tummy (he burps after every feeding too!). By night time he is constantly being rudely awakened by his need to pass gas; he grunts and strains so loudly that it scares me, and sometimes he even starts to cry. But he doesn't seem to be able to get the gas out. He ends up staying awake unless I swaddle him and hold him till he falls asleep again but half an hour to an hour later he wakes up with gas pains again. Seeing him in so much pain makes me so unhappy. His pedi told me to buy Mylicon gas drops. Two days ago I bought it and gave him the recommended dose after every feeding. Not only did it not work, it just seemed to have made it worse. He's a tough little guy; eats a lot! (about every two hours, breastfed only), burps after every feeding, and has 2-3 bowel movements and 4-5 wet diapers a day. I'm going insane, I just want to see the happy baby that I took home from the hospital. I will keep you guys updated once I get the colic calm in the mail and use it. Crossing my fingers..... -Eddyson's mommy

There is a position you can try which helps the baby expel gas, too, Sleepless. Try putting the baby tummy down on your thigh and patting him on the back while gently jiggling your thigh. This puts pressure on the gut and helps the gas move along faster. It was a big help with our gassy little guy.
Best of luck with your Colic Calm; please let us know how it works for you.
