I got on these boards to find reassurance but then realized I should be writing my own survivor story! My 9 year old had colic and reflux until she was 4 or 5 months old. One day she just stopped crying, although we did continue the reflux meds until she was 9 months old. We tried everything: prevacid, different formulas, shushing, etc. It was awful. She is a wonderful girl now, although very sensitive and emotional. Then my 6 year old had colic and reflux as well. She was even worse -- screaming inconsolably. We couldn't sleep; my husband and I did shifts of sleeping at night. I couldn't drive because I was afraid I would fall asleep at the wheel. This time we did Zantac and finally Nutramigen. Don't know if they helped, but very slowly when she was 4 to 5 months old she outgrew it. She has been the most delightful child -- easygoing, smiling, good sleeper. In fact, she took 4 hour naps up until preschool! My 3rd child had no colic or reflux. Now I am in the thick of colic and reflux with my 4th child. She is 10 weeks old but was born 3 weeks early so I have a ways to go. She is on Zantac and Alimentum. I spend my days in the kitchen next to the oven hood fan with her in the front pack. Meanwhile my other kids are fending for themselves.

But I wanted to offer hope that it does get better! I keep looking at my girls, thinking of what they put us through but how great they turned out and it gives me hope.
