WOO WOOO BROOKLYN!!! hehe...My hubby is from new jersey....he picked the name. His family is all still out there and in upstate NY. Chariti....i had a chance given to me to live rent free...for the next year, back in MT. !!!!!!! I know i know...but there is all sorts of crap attached. Expectations... It would be in my mother and step fathers house...in their basement is a whole apartment. They own a duplex....sorta, except there is no door separating their upstairs from our downstairs..they come down there all the time, their computer and sauna is down there. And we would be obligated to have meals with them all the time (they are both alcoholics...gets pretty crazy) Random times of them coming down unannounced....not a good idea. We've tried it before...it lasted a whole week (when mya was little) before we went totally nuts. I DO miss MT though!!! My mom said they got 11 inches recently?! And the forecast was for 8 degrees a couple days ago. Mya was born there...she loves the snow.

Okay, I like the cold, but 8 degrees is just to d**n cold. Things suck up inside you (so I've heard from a certain male in my house who actually LOVES the cold) that aren't supposed to be inside you. Mid 40's at night, 60's at day... perfect weather for me... sweet... I live in a dream world though...

I like it HOT. Last summer where we lived in Southern Oregon...it got to 110 in the shade. It was DARN hot. We were in this little heat pocket, it was bizarre. We had really cold during winter...and some snow....and really hot during summers. LOVED IT. Loved going swimming at the lake....river, whatever. we had a water slide park by us...Mya went down it all the time it was loads of fun When we lived in MT...it was crazy. Ive never lived somewhere that with the wind chill, you literally could not walk around at night some nights. Even with a full face ski cap...my hubby tried to go the store one night and i swear he almost got frost bite. It was insane. Mya lived in it a lot...she loves it.

Laura, Worcester? Small world - I know exactly where that is. My family is from southeastern MA -- small town called Rehoboth. The joke is that there are more cows than people. Not sure if that's still true though.

I was born in San Antonio, lived there for a year before my dad discharged from the Army, then moved to a small town Alvin, that I lived at for... let me think... .... crap I can't remember... 27 years before moving to League City. That is where I live now. So I pretty much have stayed in the same place my whole life. My mom grew up in San Antonio and when she married my dad he was in the military (must be in the blood, I married into it!!) and they lived in El Paso, Tx, Mineral Wells, Tx, Landstuhl, Germany (all Army bases) and then San Antonio where I was born. Then to Alvin we moved and have been there ever since!

I had no idea, Tamara. I thought you mentioned your parents in another post (about how they worked in the state hospital?) Were those foster parents?
