When will you, or have you turned your carseat around? Do you use a convertible or infant?? Brooklyn was in an infant seat till about 5 months, then we bought a convertible seat. We just turned it around..and shes facing forward now. At 7 months old. Yes, i know thats not what youre supposed to do...but we did it with Mya also. I have quite a few friends that have done the same thing. Brooklyn is 27 inches and 21 lbs now....and the way her carseat fits in our car REAR facing doesnt look very safe. We've bought TWO carseats for her and neither fit right, because we have slanted almost bucket kind of seats in our car. It will tilt to one side no matter what we do. We even took it to the CHP station to get them to help us, they tried using trimmed down"swimming noodles" taped together to raise it up a bit. (the fire dept. in Oregon uses the same thing, they said it works well to prop the seat in specific cars where it doesnt fit right, and it is great at shock absorbing..they installed our infant seat properly when Brooklyn came home from the hospital because i was paranoid it wasnt in right) Front facing the seat fits perfectly and looks much safer...not to mention shes much happier. She can ride like a big girl , just like Mya.
Anyways, i was just curious what everyone else uses, does. I'm sure most everyone on here uses rear facing still, as most the babies are fairly little or young.

Abby is still in the carrier, but I am not sure how much longer I can do this. I think I have hurt my shoulder carrying the car seat (carrier). I have started to leave it in the van and just take her in and out, but I think the damage is done. I think she is close to 20 lb now, but I'm not sure. She is sitting up and crawling now and starting to pull up (but still no teeth!!), so I'm not sure when to move her. I know she would be happier in one she could sit up in definitely.

oh gosh...Brooklyn would NOT go for a carrier. She refused riding in that when i took her into places since she was like 3 months. She'd rather ride in a basket (in the normal kid seat, not the baby seat or she'll just sit forward and get mad)...or sit in a highchair....ANYTHING other than being strapped in a seat. She would FREAK youre lucky abby has tolerated it that long!!! Thats so cool she's pulling up onto things!! watch out!! I'm not looking forward to the next month or so...because she can crawl (army crawl) slowly now, but i know in a month or so she's going to be more mobile...and getting into everything. And then that means i have to child proof everything 100%. Now its easy to just put her somewhere and watch her, and for the most part she stays out of everything. Except i DO have to vaccuum like 5 times a day....with all the projects and stuff Mya making a mess, Brooklyn will spot a speck of something on the floor and go for it..and try to put it in her mouth. Especially since we got our christmas tree. I'm paranoid of her eating a pine needle from the tree.

Yeah, we have tile floors. I can't tell you how many times Abby has already bonked her head on it falling over. I "try" to keep her in one place on a mat we have mad (the one you see in the pics) but now that she is mobile she is all over the place and finds things to put in her mouth. I sweep all the time and she still finds stuff. But, I know that sooner or later she will find something and eat it and I won't be able to stop her and I will find it in her poop!!

Brookie has an issue eating my hair. I've lost a lot since i had her. My hair always falls out for a few months after i have a baby. Therefore no matter how hard i try, its everywhere...including her mouth!!

I lose my hair like crazy too. It is mainly do to the topamax though. After my knee surgery most of my hair fell out and then came back in curly... and strawberry blonde!! Now it is getting straighter, but it still falls out a lot, it's a wonder I'm not bald.

Me too!! CLUMPS come out...but it did with Mya too, until she was about 7-8 months old. The texture of my hair has changed also after this pregnancy. Its usually really really curly...and its straightened out a bit. I took Mya to get her hair cut the other day and the hairdresser told me when Mya hits puberty her hair is going to curl A LOT...like how mine was. I had ringlets when i was little.... Shes already getting curl at the ends... how cute

I hear you guys.... David is only 5.5 months, so I don't dare turn the seat around yet. But he's 20lbs and over 29 inches! So his little feet start to hang out the end. It is starting to be very difficult putting him in & out of the car (the seat we have is a very heavy one, too). I have a similar problem as you with the hair. What doesn't fall out, he pulls out! That's one of the reasons I chopped it recently.

I'm going to get mine chopped soon too. I've ALWAYS had it long, but this last pregnancy SCREWED up my hair. Its fried. I dont have a choice

I used to have really long hair and then cut it and haven't been able to get it long again until recently. Then I had my knee surgery and it all fell out anyway (from the anesthesia) and so I cut it off... really short, not boy short, but above by shoulders, and when it came back in it came in curly, but not a pretty curly because only half of it was curly. It was SO messed up and frizzy. It looked like I tried to do to many home perms or something. My hairdresser was at a loss. For like 4 months she refused to tell me I had quarter size bald spots from where my hair fell out. She would just cut it to make it look more full. Then I got pregnant and it got REALLY weird. It had a mind of it's own, so I had to use a straightening iron on it all the time and it got really coarse. So I got the bright idea after Abby was born (I think she was a month old) to put a straightener in it at home. It worked, but broke my hair in spots. Now it has grown out, thanks to taking vitamins regularly and maintaining it with good shampoos and conditioners and it is actually very soft and now only has a soft wave to it which is fine because it gives it a little body (or ummpphh as Steven says). For the first time in 2 years I can actually say I like my hair. I don't plan on cutting it, I want it to grow out, I just pull it back. And yes, Abby has a fascination with it, but mainly the tiny hairs at the bottom of my neck. She thinks it's funny when I rub my hair over her face, you should hear her giggle. To cute.

Brookie loves that too. Loveeees pulling hair, playing with it...whatever. Daddy sometimes just lets her pull his hair for as long and as hard as she wants. He'll lay on the floor next to her and she'll play the drums on his head and pull his hair. (He says hes letting her play...i think its just a good excuse to lay there and be lazy and close his eyes for a few mins!! SNEAKKKYYYY) I used to have BEAUTIFUL hair...ringlet kind of curly...that went all the way down to my butt. Right after i had Mya it was like that....i miss it. Now, since i dyed my hair a few times the ends are fried...and a diff. shade of brown than my roots...I'm planning on chopping off the ends and growing it out again. I'm sure it will, ive always had my hair long

You know, I have never colored my hair, ever. And I have only had one perm and straightened it once (in May this year). I get so many compliments on the color, it's a weird color I think- a blonde, strawberry, brown color- apparently something that is hard to duplicate out of a bottle. I keep trying to get my hairdresser to highlight it and she won't.
