Essential oil of rosemary is a vasodilator powerful enough to derail a migraine, even if it has become full-blown, provided that the migraine originated due to vasoconstriction. Should the opposite be true, vasoconstrictors such as strong doses of caffeine can have the same effect, short-circuiting the headache altogether. Timing is of the essence, and you should be cautioned that rosemary can cause hemorrhaging in pregnant women. It should be used aromatically, not taken internally. When I couldn't afford Imitrex (I don't get migraines any more), I used this to stop my migraines.
