Gavin is being evaluated today to assess his development and check for any lingering effects of his prematurity, so I'll let you know after the battery is administered this afternoon.

Mason my middle child was a preemie he is seven now, they had said that developmentally he would be behind until he was one. He only has athsma, as a lasting effect of being preemie. On top of being on the vent for three weeks, he got pnemonia at one and that didn't help, shortly there after he was diagnosed. He is my smart kid, he is so advanced in school and great at everything he does. So if you are stressing about the eval. I wouldn't because sometimes they will suprise you with the ability they have to pull through the rough start they had and become more advanced than the average child.

Brookie is 7 months old...she can sit, tries to rock back and forth and rock into a standing position....rolls, says "mama" "dada" "baba" and "myma" (i think for Mya) she also says "num num" She wants you to hold her hands so she can walk everywhere...but shes not pulling up onto anything yet. Shes a chunker, so shes got a lot of weight to pull up I think she'll be JUST like her sister. Mya started talking at about 9-10 months. Talking, as in more than 10 words. But she didnt start walking till 14 months!!! She was so funny, knew a vocab of about 20-30 words by 14 months, but still couldnt walk. All her baby friends were walking around, but not talking. I guess they just take off in different things....

Gavin was found to have no developmental delays whatsoever, and was actually developmentally ahead of his *chronological* age in a couple of areas. Thank god for dodging bullets!

Yay good job Gavin, isn't it wonderful when the worry of what prematurity can do to your baby goes away somewhat?

That's great, Rebecca! How old is he, again -- chronologically and adjusted?

As of Sunday, December 23rd, Gavin's adjusted age was seven months. On December 6th, he'll be nine months, chronologically. Thanks for all the good wishes, guys. We have well and truly come through the woods on this one.

That is wonderful Rebecca! I am not going to worry about Garren. I think he is fine but his physical therapist makes me paranoid!

Our dogs name is Albus, as in Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter- yes my husband is a weirdo) and we call him Albie which mixes really well with Abby... so today I was yelling at the dog and they both looked at me- too funny. But Abby finally said... Awbi, clear as a bell. I knew she meant Albie, but came out Awbi, but it was cute. She was yelling at the dog for taking a toy of hers. Funny kid. She got a walker for Christmas and is trying to walk behind it, I don't know how well this will work out since we have tile floor and I am having to keep socks on her and it makes it slippery. So she gets pissed off more easily... as if she didn't before! Babies are funny...

You know...i think i am the only person in the US that hasn't read any Harry Potter book. Its just not my thing. My husbands 11 year old daughter was really into the books for awhile, i dont know if she still is. Yah, Brooklyn has been crazy in repeating things. She will copy what we say. I'll show her her rubber duckies (she has a collection. i just bought a bunch for xmas for her collection, a firefighter one, a princess one, a cow one...) and say "DUCKY" and she'll say "duddy" Or if her and Mya take a bath together (she sits in those bath seats that she can move around in) they'll get out of control splashing, and Mya will say "Brookie...splash!!" And Brookie will say "PASH!" and start giggling and splashing.
