We haven't been going through the 4 month sleep regression to that extent yet, though my baby girl still wakes up to eat 2 times per night like she's been doing since she was a newborn. What we have noticed is that she definitely fights sleep to a higher degree lately, and she wakes up about 45 minutes after going to bed and is up for about 30 minutes (we don't go in to get her up of course...we have sleep trained her to go back to bed on her own). Are you breastfeeding? Is your baby eating well during the day? If you're breastfeeding like me, one of the things I've noticed is that my baby doesn't eat as well during the day because she is so distracted by any little noise (and I have a 2 year old so believe me, there is a lot of noise). Because of that, I think she is really hungry at night and needs to eat! 4 months is also a wonder week and growth spurt. The brain grows dramatically during this time. Waking 5 times seems like a ton, though...I can understand why you're frustrated! I would be too. Maybe give it a couple more weeks and see if it improves...if not you could try sleep training. I recommend sleep sense...google it. It saved our lives!:-) Good luck!

Oh man I wrote too soon on my last post! Tonight she SCREAMED for over 30 minutes going down. Then when she woke up 45 minutes later (she normally is able to put herself back down), she started SCREAMING again! I finally just went in and fed her. She is quiet now but awake and I'm waiting for the screaming to begin all over again. This BLOWS! Just when I start to get semi-comfortable...BOOM!

Lizzi, I know it is tough. I have a 7 month old now and hes still waking up twice a night and doesn't go down easily. so my night goes something like go to bed with him, around 7pm. but I have a hard time falling asleep at 7pm lately, and hes back up at midnight, but I feel like I never get a good stretch of sleep bc my husband comes home from work at 1030pm and walks in the room, even if its quiet, im a quiet sleeper and so my whole night is disturbed. THEN Nolan wakes me up at 4am again SCREAMING then at 5am. Im like wtf I haven't gotten more than a 4-5 hour stretch of sleep in 7 months. My body and mind are just craving a solid 10 hours of sleep at this point I could sleep all day and all night long bc im so chronically sleep deprived. so I get ur frustration. its tiring being a mom. does it get any easier as they get older? with the sleeping? since u have a 2 yr old
