Being Payton's mom its hard to be objective.... I think hes the best kid ever ( i wouldnt have said that a few months ago) I had a friend over yesterday who hadnt seen him in a while, and she was astonished at how alert and attentive to her and his surroundings he was. and heres the kicker how smiley he is now. We have a friend who has a niece that is 11 days younger and she doesnt smile, or interact. Guys I know its tough but all the time holding, talking to, crying with your little ones will pay off... ask Tamara, shes done it twice now.

Thats for sure.... Colic makes beautiful, intelligent, smiley babies All that love and extra attention you give them really pays off. The bond that forms is indescribable. I've said it before...And it holds true. "After the rain.....comes the rainbow"

Amen to that girls!! We may have to go through the storm but after it comes the best stuff. There were days when I really did not want to hold her all the time but I did and it paid off- she likes me more! (As a side story, my daughter Bella wasn't held very much as a baby and she was colicky. Her other mother basically left her in her car seat all the time while my husband was at work. She claimed she couldn't deal with her. {who can, but you just do it.} So she really got deprived of a lot of attention as a baby and now as a 5 yr old, she has a lot of social issues with developing bonds with people and has NO coping skills whatsoever. I have had to work so hard at getting her to come out of her shell and not do some of the things that she has done as "coping" skills in the past that it makes my life very hard. ) So if you ever think it is hard to hold your baby 24/7, sure it is, but it is SO worth the effort it takes to just give that extra love and affection because when they do come out of the hard stuff, they develop into wonderful little babies with great personalities.
