Ok, so I am wondering if you ladies can tell me, those of you who have babies that are now on solids, how are you balancing out the solids and the formula/breastmilk? I mean, Garren is 5.5 months old now and we are introducing more and more solids ( fruits, cereal, some veggies) and I don't really know how much to give and when. I always had a hard time with this with my daughter too. He usually will wake up between 5 & 6 AM for a bottle-usually about 6 oz, then he'll generally go back to sleep until around 7:30-8AM. At around 9AM another bottle 5-6oz and then at lunchtime, usually 12:30-1PM, I'll give some baby food like squash and applesauce or the jarred cereal. Then another bottle at about 5pm again 5-6oz and then jarred cereal at 7-8pm then another 6oz bottle at bedtime. Is this what you guys do or am I doing to much solid stuff. I just would like to know what you guys are doing or have done in the past. Audrey

Ummm, I'm not a good person to ask since the day Abby started eating solids, and by solids I mean "people" food, she takes less formula and will also drink juices. My baby is a pig and will eat anything that is put in front of her. oink oink...

You gotta be sh***ing me? $200... at Christmas?? omg I could have choked him... seriously. I know how. But his excuse... the kids want a puppy. I DON'T CARE!!!! I don't want to take care of it. My luck I'll fall in love with it... you know... I'll actually like it.

that puppy is seriously way too cute!!!
Audrey, I'm not totally sure about the diet thing, either. We're just now giving Levi cereal since his stomach is pretty sensitive. I have that book "What to expect the first year" and I think there is info in it about solids, which I need to read soon. It sounds like what you are doing is good though--balancing the bottles and food. I'm a little unsure of how to transition as well.
